Calling All Volunteers!
Our association needs you! Committees are the backbone of our association. They are the way the association accomplishes the goals of the membership:
- Educational opportunities via webinars, in-person conferences and on-demand CLE/CE
- Legislative initiatives supporting agents in Alabama
- Liaison with real estate related associations: Realtors, Probate Judges, Banks, Mortgage Bankers and Builders
- Membership outreach to agents, agents’ staff, abstractors, associates and underwriters
- Communication via the website and newsletter
If you think you don’t have time, you’re in good company. We all think we don’t have the time until we realize the need and the impact we can have when we give of ourselves to help our title insurance industry. With most endeavors, you will receive more than you give when it’s a worthy cause. Your executive director can help you find the best fit for you. Thanks for completing the committee preference form OR email admin@LTAAL.org OR call Anna Batten at 205-613-8109. Please step up and let us know where you would like to serve!
Education Committee
This committee plans webinars, conferences, lunch & learns and on-demand CLE/CE.
Our inaugural conference will be August 25-26 at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook. Our immediate need is assistance at the registration table, helping with name tags, and other tasks at the conference.
Legislative Committee
This committee implements the grassroots outreach to our Alabama legislators by working with the directors to form relationships. 25% of our membership dues are allocated to this mission. The committee monitors legislation affecting our real estate industry and when needed, recommends the association sponsor bills to benefit our industry.
Liaison Committee
This committee facilitates relationships with the various real estate related associations in Alabama: Alabama Association of Realtors, Homebuilders of Alabama, Alabama Mortgage Professionals Association, Alabama Banking Association, Alabama Mortgage Bankers and the Probate Judge Association. This is done via support of their associations through sponsorships and attendance at their meetings.
Membership Committee
This committee markets our association to agents (attorneys and licensed policy signatories), agent staff, abstractors, associates (industry vendors) and underwriters to increase our membership. Especially because we are a “start-up” association, this committee is critical to the success of the association.
Communication Committee
This committee needs a few tech/graphic design/writers/editors to help update the website and assist with the monthly newsletter.
