Important message from Judge Cain – Morgan County
Members of the Association:
I have been advised that I can open the pubic records room for a brief period of time on Monday, March 2, 2026. Anyone that wishes to have access to the public records room will need to meet me at the guard station on the second-floor entrance of the courthouse at 9:00 A.M. The commission has agreed to allow access for a 2 hour window and we will close the public records room at 11:00 A.M. and be safely escorted out. To be clear, the courthouse is still closed to the public. The public records room will have lights, but there will be NO access to a printer, copier or pc’s. This window of opportunity is being provided to anyone that needs access to an “old” paper record and that can utilize a photograph of the same for documentation purposes.
If you have any questions or definitely know that you will be there Monday, March 2, 2026, please email me and let me know. At this time, I cannot tell you when/if another window of opportunity will be made available before the courthouse reopens.
