Amy Niesen, General Counsel & Senior Vice President Land Title Company of Alabama

Following her graduation from Birmingham-Southern College in 1989, Amy Niesen landed a job with Land Title Company of Alabama, an agency with deep roots in the Birmingham real estate community since its founding in 1951. After one year of employment in Land Title’s posting department, Amy left to attend law school full time at the University of Alabama School of Law, never expecting to return to the world of title insurance. As fate would have it, the General Counsel position at Land Title came available as Amy was studying for her bar exam in 1993, and Amy was offered the position. 32 years later, she is still with Land Title, serving as its General Counsel & Senior Vice President. She counts her many years of
mentorship by Land Title’s CEO Bill Miller as one of the greatest honors of her career. Amy stays connected to and participates in legislative and regulatory issues affecting the title insurance industry through her involvement with the Alabama Land Title Association Legislative Committee, Alabama Bar Association, American Land Title Association (ALTA), Title Action Network (TAN), Title Insurance Political Action Committee (TIPAC), and the Title Insurance Industry Advisory Committee (TIIAC) for the Alabama Department of Insurance. Amy is a past president of the former Dixie Land Title Association (now SLTA), having served on its Board of Directors for nine years. She was honored to receive the DLTA Title Person of the Year Award in 2013.

Amy has two adult children and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and marking
things off her bucket list
