Alabama Mortgage Professionals Association

Sean Culhane and I were grateful for the opportunity to attend, represent LTAAL and network with our Alabama Mortgage Professionals at the Hoover Country Club on September 16th. This was a terrific group of mortgage professionals who care about the real estate industry and improving homeownership throughout the State of Alabama. Tammy Kirkland, Executive Director of AMPA, was very welcoming and appreciative of our sponsorship of this event. We heard several presentations and ate a wonderful lunch. First, we heard from the Alabama State Banking Department talking about home prices and interest rates. He discussed how this is drastically changing our real estate market and causing some mortgage professional turnover. Next, we had a title industry Q&A with an attorney from Montgomery who discussed wire fraud, the importance of title insurance and closing etiquette. Finally, David Lucas with EXP Realty/ Board member with BAR and NAR, talked about the NAR Settlement and the changes in store for realtors this year with Buyer Paid Commission/Representation and MLS changes. This was very informative, and it was great to see involvement from all sectors of our industry come together to encourage, support and help further educate our mortgage banking professionals of Alabama. Looking forward to the next one!
