Member Highlight – Agent: April Smith
April Smith is the owner of Smith Closing & Title, LLC. She is proud to have owned her business since 2014. Her office is located in Hoover, Alabama. She is currently a Fidelity National Title and Westcor Land Title Agent. Prior to starting Smith Closing & Title, LLC, she worked for seven years for Battaglia Law Office, LLC out of Montgomery and Birmingham, Alabama. Battaglia Law Office, LLC was the contracted HUD Closing Agent for the State of Alabama for many years. She spent several hours on the road all over the State speaking with local real estate agents and lenders on the HUD Home Buying and Closing process. Monthly seminars with the HUD Listing Agents and HUD Asset Managers was not only a great networking time, but provided much needed education for realtors. Her closing company still specializes in HUD Closings but also handles Residential and Commercial closings, as well as all title insurance services, within the State of Alabama.
She prides herself in education for realtors and lenders on title and closing issues that our industry sees on a daily basis. She performs Lunch and Learn sessions for real estate brokerages, participates in Career Day with local schools and internships with Pelham High School. She is proud to be a Top Producer for Fidelity National Title, being named a member of the Fidelity Club for several years.
Originally from Alabaster, Alabama, she currently resides in Pelham with her two children, ages 13 and 10, and her sweet German Shepherd, Maya. She loves to travel and has lived all over the world- New Jersey, Washington DC and South Africa. Quickly learned to perfect the art of running a business from literally anywhere in the world. She also is very active with First Baptist Church Alabaster; singing in the choir, praise team and leading the preschool choir. She also coaches the Pelham Rec 5th and 6th grade volleyball team.
