Bill to Remove Pre-licensing Course for Title Agent Exam
House Bill 60 (HB60) proposes removing the requirement that applicants complete a pre-licensing course prior to taking the Title Agent Licensing Exam. It does not end pre-license training but does remove the statutory requirement for completing an approved course as a requisite for sitting for the exam.
HB60 is strongly supported by the Alabama Department of Insurance (ALDOI), because the bill would relieve the ALDOI from overseeing pre-licensing for the title exam. HB60 will likely be voted upon during the current legislative session. Once the session concludes, an update will be provided concerning whether the bill is formally codified into law.
