Joey Crews, First Choice Title and Closings
Joey Crews grew up in Weaver, Alabama, just north of Anniston. He began his career in clothing retail and advanced to District Manager with MGRE, Inc., overseeing the North Carolina and Virginia district. When the company later closed for business, Joey transitioned into real estate, earning his real estate license in 2001. He built his business steadily, expanding from a single assistant to a full team of buyer’s agents and listing specialists, ultimately becoming the top‑producing real estate team in Alabama.
In 2019, Joey relocated to Decatur, sold his real estate team, and purchased a large building in downtown Decatur, where he operated a retail business until 2024. Around the time he prepared to close the store, his friend and attorney, Ernie Ball, announced his retirement from a successful title insurance business. Joey purchased the business from Ernie, completed the requirements to obtain his title insurance agent license, and entered the title industry. He has served as a title agent since 2024, initially with Security Title and later with Fidelity National Title following Doug’s transition from attorney to underwriter.
Joey values the responsibility, and problem‑solving involved in title insurance and remains committed to serving the real estate community for many years to come.
